Start With the Sign Details That Matter
Use the enquiry form on our contact page and give us the basics first. We need the sign type, rough size, quantity and where it sits on the site, whether that is a shopfront in Paarden Eiland, a pylon in Sandton, or a billboard face in Midrand. If there are multiple signs on one property, list each one separately so we can price the work properly.
Please include the job address and the target suburb, plus any site contact who can meet our crew on arrival. If the sign is already damaged or loose, say so clearly. A bent bracket or water ingress in a lightbox can change the access plan and the time on site.
Measurements, Photos and Access Notes Help a Lot
Accurate measurements save time and cut down on site surprises. If you have drawings, send the overall dimensions, fixing points, mounting height and any clearances around the sign. A straight facade job in Bellville is very different from a high lift on a windy coastal frontage in Somerset West, so the more detail you send the better.
- Overall sign width and height in metres or millimetres
- Mounting height from ground to bottom edge
- Photo of the front, side and the fixing point if possible
- Notes on roof access, gate width, boom clearance or tight parking
- Any live power nearby, glass frontage, or fragile cladding
Tell us if the site has delivery restrictions, security access, or loading limits for a truck or cherry picker. In some areas you may need municipal permission, traffic control or after-hours access, and it helps if we know that early.
Tell Us What Work You Need Done
We quote for rigging only, so we need to know exactly which service you want. That could be a new sign installation, a sign removal before a tenant change, a maintenance visit for a flickering lightbox, or a billboard face change. If you are moving a sign from one premises to another, add the full source and destination addresses.
- Sign installation for new or replaced signage
- Sign removal and safe take-downs
- Sign servicing and maintenance visits
- Lighting access for repairs or lamp replacement
- Lift planning, scaffold access or platform work
- Emergency callouts and sign relocations
If you are a sign maker sending work to us, say whether the sign is ready on site or still in fabrication. That lets us plan the crew size and access equipment without guessing.
How We Build the Quotation
Once we have the enquiry, our operations team checks the job scope, location and likely access needs. From there we plan whether the work can be done with ladders, scaffold, platform work or a lifted access solution. We also factor in weather, load-shedding timing, and whether the site has enough space for safe set-up and a clean exit.
For bigger or higher-risk jobs, we may request extra photos or a site survey before final pricing. That is common for tall fascia signs, rooftop work, busy road frontage, or sites with limited laydown space. If there are multiple branches involved, we can group the work where practical to keep travel time down.
What Happens Before the Crew Arrives
Before we attend, please make sure the site is ready for safe access. If the sign is in a shopping centre, office park or industrial yard, confirm the access route and any sign-in rules at reception or security. If the job is in Cape Town, Johannesburg or along the coastal strip, wind and weather can change plans quickly so keep the site contact available on the day.
- Clear the working area where possible
- Let security know what vehicle and crew to expect
- Switch off or isolate power if the job requires it and this has been arranged
- Keep keys, gate codes and rooftop access details handy
- Tell us about any nearby operations that cannot be interrupted
Our crews are scaffold and first-aid trained, and we work to safe access methods on every site. If the job changes on arrival, we will talk it through before work starts so there are no surprises.
When to Mark the Job as Urgent
Use the contact form and note it clearly if the sign is leaning, cracked, hanging loose or affecting trading. Emergency callouts are common after storms, vehicle impact or electrical faults, and those jobs need fast photos and a clear description. A damaged sign at a high traffic site in the East Rand, for example, may need immediate isolation before anything else happens.
If you have a deadline for a store opening, rebrand or lease handover, include the target date and any hard cut-off. We will say if the timing is workable or if the site needs a staged plan. For regular clients, we can also quote for repeat maintenance visits across the Western Cape and Gauteng so your team is not starting from scratch each time.
